FREE ROPE!Hitch n Hike, the Peak District Caving Shop, offered....  200m of Beal 10mm Antipodes free to the caver or team who find the most new cave at a single non-diving dig site within the Peak District, during 2007.and.... 200m of Beal 10mm Antipodes free to the diver or team who find the most new cave at a single dive site within the Peak District, in and/or beyond the sump, during 2007.The year turned out to be one of few new finds and some very hard won new ground. In the end Martin Milner and the Darfar PC diggers laid claim to one of the drums with their 67m extension to Darfar Pot and John Cordingley took the other for his exploration in Speedwell Cavern's Downstream Sump. However, in a fine display of sportsmanship, John offered to call it a draw with the Bagsahawe Resurgence team who made some significant progress during the year and weren't far behind. Rather than splitting the rope for personal use they have donated it to the T.S.G., of which they are both members. So... Good effort all round. Hitch n Hike are planning something similar for 2008 so get digging and diving! |
