Bagshawe Cavern Working Evening:A Bagshawe Cavern working evening is being planned for Thursday 1st May 08 and caving volunteers are needed to cast a number of concrete slabs in the roof of the entrance stope which will protect the steps (and anyone on them) from rockfall. The plan for Thursday evening is to mix concrete on the surface, transport the concrete down the steps using zipwires and pour the concrete into the wooden shuttering that is already in place. Preparatory work will begin at 5:30 p.m. and we hope to be properly underway by 7:30 p.m. There is space for around eight cars at Bagshawe Cavern so if you can car share that would be handy. Bring lightweight caving gear and gloves (no vertical kit needed). Please contact Jules Barrett (jules@orionmountaineering.com) if you are able to help out. |
